Rockstar has apologized for the GTA Trilogy issues and stated that it will make older GTA versions available again.
Shortly before the release of the new trilogy package, the removal of old GTA versions from sale caused a reaction from the players. With this move, the company started 1-0 behind. On the other hand, taking a step back after the reactions, Rockstar stated that the classic versions will return with the statement he made today. Players will be able to re-purchase this trilogy as before.
“First of all, we would like to sincerely apologize to anyone who has encountered problems playing these games,” Rockstar said. “The Grand Theft Auto series and the games that make up this iconic trilogy are as special to us as we know it to fans around the world. Updated versions of these classic titles did not debut to the standard our fans and we expected.”
The company promised that the bugs will be fixed with future updates. It was also stated that the classic versions of the games will be given free of charge to anyone who has already purchased the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. In addition, it was said that players who plan to purchase in the future can benefit from this campaign until 30 June 2022.
Regarding the harassment made for the Definitive Edition developer team on social media, Rockstar Games also said, “As our community works on the issues, we ask that they please maintain a respectful and civilized discourse regarding this release.” made the statement.
An update will be brought to the Definitive Edition following the release of older games. Finally, it is not yet known whether the games will come back to the Steam store.
